In the late 90’s I was doing a planned photoshoot in at home with my good friend Meaux. She wanted me to shoot some B&W film. Up until that point I shot almost entirely slide film (Kodachrome and Ektachrome). I remember vividly loading that first roll of TRI-X. This first two images in this gallery are from that first roll of TRI-X.

If I could do it over again I think I’d have shot even less color in studio and maybe gone entirely B&W.

I’ve mellowed a bit on this over the years, when I started shooting more film again fell in love with Portra and Fuji 400H, but still I’d say 75% of what I shoot now is still B&W be it film or digital.
