As I grow older I find that often my biggest regrets aren’t of things I did in the past, but things I didn’t do. Like this simple day in a state park with the two grandsons, it’s a memory I cherish but how I regret not doing in more often. It wasn’t long after this their world go turned upside down and they were split up and went to live with different family members.
Mistakes I made along the way are one thing, but the moments not taken, that’s what you find yourself looking back on as the road of life has much more in the rearview mirror than the road ahead of you.
For those interested in such things these images are all analog film. Nikon F3 and F100 for the 35mm, Pentax 645nII for the medium format.
